Physician salaries are based on national averages for specialists and vary based on years of post residency experience. Salaries are adjusted every year based on new survey data. Starting salary is currently $238,000 and the top salary is $328,000. Time Away From Work

Physicians earn 5 weeks of vacation per year for their first two years and more than 6 weeks per year thereafter. In addition, 4 compensatory days off are earned for each week of call taken. A physician may also use 10 paid days for CME per year. Finally, a physician may make arrangements with their department to take additional unpaid days away from work.

Four Retirement Plans

ANTHC 401 (a) Money Purchase Plan is entirely funded by ANTHC. To be eligible, you must complete one year and 1,000 hours of service. Once enrolled, ANTHC will contribute an amount equal to 7% of your annual compensation each plan year (October 1 – September 30) up to the current IRS limit of $15,400. You have the option to choose from 56 investment options, ranging from fixed annuity accounts to variable bond, income and equity accounts.

Tax-Sheltered Annuity 403 (b) is a great savings opportunity. You are automatically eligible for the 403 (b) plan upon your employment with ANTHC. You may contribute earnings up to the allowable limits set by the IRS.

Tax-Sheltered 457 (b) Deferred Plan – For tax year 2007, an eligible employee can make elective contributions to a 457 (b) account of up to 100% of annual compensation OR to IRS limits; whichever is less. These amounts are in addition to what may be deferred into a 403 (b) or TSP Plan.

Tax-Sheltered 457 (f) Deferred Plan – An employee can make elective deferrals of up to 100% of salary, however the compensation deferred is generally not regarded as “includible compensation” and may reduce retirement benefits under other ANTHC Plans.

Physicians are offered CME funds of $2,000 with 10 paid days per year.
